Got a chuckle out of this one, so thought I'd share it. One sometimes sees a critique that the perch is too big for the bird, and here's a case in point. This fledgling American Kestrel stopped briefly for a rest, on a dead tree in the middle of a pond - way too far away for me to get a proper shot.

Here's a large crop (38% of FF) just to show how cute the little fellow is. Wish I could have been closer.

It is a funny shot as you say. I think we often try to get too close and miss environmental or humorous images.

Hi Bill, well this sure is little and large. The juvi certainly is dwarfed by the large tree trunk, and Im actually fine with how you have presented this. Infact, your repost has held up well with the larger crop. Just take some off the top of your repost, and I feel you will have achieved more than what you think.

I agree with Stuart, the repot does look good - I like it just the way it is. And thanks for the chuckle.

Like the concept and the image design of the original with the bird looking out of the frame. A long thin perch would have been nice :). IQ held up well with the large crop.

Very interesting...and different...he looks so tiny and vulnerable on that huge perch, great in it's own way...looks like it stands up to a crop quite well
