    Default Another Green Heron

There seems to be more Green Herons around this year, so here is another. This is close to full frame, processed in LR 4, and resized in CS 5. Fortunately, there was no cloning needed. Techs: Taken early morning with Nikon D7000/500mm f/4-P on tripod @ 1/125, f/5.6, ISO 250. Any tips, suggestions or comments are appreciated as always. (Oh, and if you look closely, there's a little bug on it's back...a bonus! ;-)

That's about as good as it gets Jeannean! Loverly sharp subject, a perfect perch and background, and I like the composition. Very well done on this one.

Superb image. I especially like it because there is no habitat obstructing the heron & competing for attention. TFS.

Very nice, Jeannean. I agree, I have seen more green herons this year in Ontario as well. I really like the body and head angle of this photo plus the background.

Nice and sharp details, very clean background as well. Impressive results with the 500P and no VR shooting at 1/125 - even with a tripod. The colors are right on, too. Well done!

Good one Jeannean! Technically and artistically strong image. You have it all working nicely here.
