    Default Cheetah and cubs

Same cheetah mum and cubs as posted earlier. She have just killed a bushbock, and she and the cubs are just about to have lunch. From Masai Mara last november. Shoot midday, and therefore light is quite harsh.

    C&C most welcome.

Cropped, levels adjusted, and sharpness added.

Priceless, just love the cub looking towards you with such a bold posture. I also like the way the mum is viewing her bold cub.

    Gregor,

Great poses here, there are undoubtedly many ways to "improve" this image but I would leave it as is.

Hi Gregor, a sweet image, and I like the way Mum is just keeping her eye on the lead cub as it looks on to you and the second one staying close by, just watching. Nice space all round and I like how you have positioned the subjects in frame, with just a quarter of the sky included, to break up the the sea of green BKG.

I might look at the steps Morkel suggested about the options regarding WB and or the Temp, looks a little yellow to me, easily corrected, plus adjust it in the whites too. Just watch the whites on the jaw of the female. Personally I think you could also look at just opening the shadows areas up a fraction more? Good detail with sharpness where it counts.

Nice shot Gregor. I like the DOF and clarity of the photo. Also agree with Steve K. about the inclusion of the sky to provide some color contrast with the grasses. Love the poses of the three as well.

Really Ken, what are they? Oh wait, that is for us (moderators or anyone else) to come up with.

The innuendo is not needed, wanted or called for Ken.

    Gregor,

I like the image and the cubs are beyond cute. The adult female appears to be looking at something - I assume the kill. I don't know the proximity of the kill to the cats, but if it was close enough to be shown in the image then including the thing capturing her attention might have been a better composition. I say that as I find myself wanting to know what she is looking at.

I suggested none because in my view none are needed, therefore I fail to understand your comment. If you consider it to be an innuendo then that is your choice, it would certainly not be my understanding of my comment.

    Hi everybody

I´m thankful for your comments and critique. Robert: I think she is looking at the cub, as he is making a move and leading the way.
I have tried to play with different color temp.(+ lifted shadows a bit, not sure that even is visible) This repost is a try. Not sure what I think though. For the rest, I guess I eventually will get PS and Nik.

Hi Gregor, I think that looks good now, and it's a credit to your thirst for improving, especially considering what little software you have and how you are rapidly climbing that learning curve of Post production.

Personally I would advise going for PS as it dovetails nicely with what you have, the architecture and workings are the same, NIK can wait IMHO, save your pennies for later.

    Gregor,

Hope you have plenty of pennies, PS is not exactly cheap, and nor is Nik if you go for the full set , but you can at least buy what you want rather than things you may not require, Color Efex Pro 4 by itself would be your best bet.
