Had a little better light this AM at JBWR. Good number of Dowitchers and Yellowlegs as well as the usual "peeps".

    800 ISO f8 at 1/1600th
    Cropped for comp.

Very nice Joe, Big improvement over the last Dowitcher. Great color, exposure and detail.
Maybe pushing the rule of thirds a little to much for me. IQs good enough to handle the crop. Nice Work.

    Very nice Joe.
I like the IQ on the bird and the open beak.Shows the "hinge" of beak well.
I might add a bit more room on the RHS.
I find the color of the water unusual. Was it really this color or is the color balance a bit off? You were there so know best!

Good light quality. Nice shooting angle, though I think a lower shooting angle might have been better.
How soaked do you get here? Consider total submersion...minus the gear of course :)
Rhynchokinesis is so cool, nice illustration of it here. I agree with the sentiment of the first comment
    regarding subject placement/rule of thirds.

The Pond bed at JBWR is like quicksand. People have ventured in and had to be pulled out by others. Going in the water there is a big "NO NO".

Thats what color it was on this morning. It is a mix of blue water and green reflection from the grasses around the pond.

Very nice exposure Joe, and the color looks very nice to me.
I would eliminate the brown spot to the left of the beak in the water.
    The bird looks great.

Good reason not to venture in then....
I've accidentally found myself in that "quicksand" like stuff once....very alarming feeling!
