    What you see in this image is about 1/3 of th length of the stick that this Osprey brought back for the nest. I was amazed by the ease with which he carried it. This particular image was made as he applied the breaks just before reaching the nest. Image was made yesterday morning at Sandy Hook, NJ.

    Canon 30D, 400mm f/5.6 lens, handheld

    1/800 sec at f/7.1; ISO 200; EC = +2/3

    Great pose and it really is impressive how much they can carry. I wish the sun would have been behind you.

    He's an ambitious one and your image tells the story. That was some hard light you were working with.

    As others said, hard light but good wing position and that is a big stick.:D

    Yes, the light angle is hurting this otherwise great image.
