Hello everyone. Well for the 4th of July my wife and I took our kids to San Diego. I was really excited to go to La Jolla. There was a good number of brown pelicans and gulls. Light on the other hand was not all great. The whole week we were there it was very, very cloudy. Here is a shot of these very attractive gulls, well at least to me they are.

Robert, I think that light conditions that you describe served you well here. Light is very even and allowed for nice exposure. The green water is beautiful. My eye keeps telling me that there's a stronger compostion in here, maybe more the bird away from the left side a bit and/or trim from the right? (Minor tweaks) I also think that a bit more contrast applied to the head only would make the eye pop. It looks just a bit hazy to me.

Very nice Robert. I really like the water color detail in plumage and the angled perch. I agree about a little more depth on the head.

That green water BG is really special, and the bird really pops in the screen. I concur with Grace's suggestions.

Nice shot Robert. As Grace stated evenly light. I like these gulls also. Good exposure and feather detail. Unique water color makes this a keeper.
    Good job

Hi Robert, the soft overcast light has worked out well here, and you have captured a lovely pose. Good DOF on the Gull, and I too like the colour of the water. Comp wise, looking at your repost, I would still move him more to the right in the frame- ( add a bit to the left)

Hello Robert. Such a lovely image. I love the soft feel of the overcast light here. Excellent detail on the feathers and the green background adds a lot. Nice pose, too.
Composition-wise, another vote for moving the bird a little to the right. I might also chop off some space from the top.

Thank you all again for all the comments and advice.
Here is repost with some added to left, a tad removed from the top, and some removed from the right.
