Nice and sharp, beautiful background, do not often see shots of them on perches which makes it nice and different for me. My only thing with this is that most of the eye is in the shadow. Thanks for sharing.

Your oystercatcher looks so similar to ours except for that eye. You did a good job dealing with difficult light and you have a nice clean BG. Are these birds scarce in the UK?

I too have never seen one perch on a post before,...nicely isolated from the backdrop, nice shade of green too that does not over power, and pretty much the perfect profile shot imo

Agree with Phil, perfect profile shot. I like the pose, standing on one leg.Lights looks difficult but very well captured.
Love the colors, details and beautiful BG.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Thanks very much everyone for your C&C.
Marina these birds are common in UK, some are migrants but many breed here.

Very nice portrait. I agree that seeing one perched like this adds a lot of value to the image
in regards to uniqueness. As presented, I think there is too much space on top and to the
right. I cropped tighter in PS and took care to keep the bird slightly off center to the left
to stay true to the OP, and I liked the image even better that way....

Hi Jon, excellent exposure on the OC, sharp, and love the one legged pose. Killer BG too. I would try and bring out the eye a little more.

Really like that Jonathan. Cracking detail and one of my favourite birds.
