Default The Sinister American Crow Juvie...

    Attached Images Attached Images

This individual looked quite dubious along a local beach recently. It was making strange advances to many other crows and gulls in hopes of snatching food scraps...it also had a permanent hunched pose, and a a ratty plumage...all contributing to a suspisious look that did not seem to make it be trustworthy! I suspect the hunch is from a defect or injury, but it was very mobile and otherwise healthy in its' movements.

Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 800 (settings histogram checked), natural light, handheld, minor beach and bill clean up (patch and clone tools), and some white specks removed from the plumage via Spot Healing Brush Tool.

Excellent exposure although I think it could go a bit darker.
Nice feather detail though, hard to do right.
    An interesting beach photo.

Buzzard like pose....very cool/different, and a sweet setting to capture this species in.
Kudos for another great frame with lots of personality.

Very sinister and sneaky looking, quite a classic looking bird, although a little sad.....he doesn't know a Bell-ringer by the name of Quasimoto by any chance does he.

Sinister for sure. May have gotten rickets as a fledgling. Its a calcium deficiency that affects raptors and Corvids. Nice shot.

    I like the title!
You have exposed the blacks perfectly and I like the light blue water BG.
    Cool find!

Great crow image. I like the low angle and the head pose of the bird. Composition is great.
