    Default Juvenile Bluetit

I'm noticing that over the last few weeks most of the juvenile birds near us are now fending for themselves and, although their plumage still shows their age, their appearance is more like adults particularly their beaks which are straightening out and firming up. Here is an example of that, a juvenile Bluetit, one of this years birds, feeding himself now and looking good, if a little unkempt since Mum isn't looking out for him anymore

Canon 1D mk IV with 400mm f/5.6 lens. Hand held, 1/1600 sec @ f/8. ISO 1600, manual mode, spot metered.

    Mark,
Magnificent image of Bluetit with superb composition.
Very nice pose,HA,perch, lights and beautiful green BG.
I like the great details and sharpness on tit and the single feather on the backside.
Love the shades of blue on bird.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Sweet image with great details, nice pose and great bg.
Just wish for a thinner/nicer perch that wasn't cut off at the end.

Lovely details shown. The bird shows a green cast coming from the green sorroundings but I might be wrong as I have never seen this bird species.
If I'm right you might try to make a selection of the bird and remove the green cast by removing the yellow component.

Thanks Sidharth. A thinner perch would have been nice but I wasn't about to pass up this shot for that

Thanks Karl. Always difficult to comment too definitely on colour as it depends what you are seeing on your monitor compared to what I'm seeing on mine. What I can tell you is that what I'm seeing is an accurate representation of this birds colours
