Not the typical BIF shot... I like the relative sharp bird flying through the reeds
    1/800s f/8.0 at 400.0mm iso200

    Raul,

I'm impressed the focus didn't shift to the reeds in front. Was this AF or MF?

It was AF, I think the small aperture did help me or I was plain lucky.

Could it be called contrast? What camera are you using and what AF setting?

At the time I was using the (orignal) digital rebel, AF center sensor, one shot (the rebel does not have AI servo) .... was pure luck.

Could be it center AFed before you hit the reeds and stayed locked because it saw it as the primary contrast just long enough for you to pull the trigger. Luck was involved but like I say "the harder I try, the luckier I get." NIce shot.
