Awesome muddy buff Ken, like the eye contact. I would have love some light falling on his head. Nice shot.

Me too but it was quite dull, if not raining all the time we were there

Ken - very muddy and a good image. Maybe a little more selective sharpening on the head?

Nice front on wallowing view and muddy texture here Ken.

Thanks everybody, whilst this is very ordinary in terms of subject and composition, I quite like it.

As for sharpness it is really sharp (one of the reasons I liked it) in Tiff, but has obviously lost a little in translation

    Hi Ken,
why too use 1/1600 sec for 170mm ? It is not clear to me !
Nice muddy buff and comp works well.
Slight blue cast in the mid tones, but not a problem easy to fix. As always personal preference

    Cheers Andreas

    Andreas,

Because seconds earlier I had been trying to get a bird in flight and missed, I suppose I should hace reduced the ISO for this shot but did not, I always prefer to have higher shutter speeds when hand holding even a light combination like this one, just my preference

    Ken,
so in the end we all have our own preferences , and we should leave them to each and everyone , i think .
