Default Weekly Theme: Old Chinese Parchment

    Attached Images Attached Images

I used Foltosketcher for the effect, then various Topaz and Nik softwares to give it the old look.
It is an image of a lost Little Egret that recently showed up from Europe, it's still in Montreal, Quebec.

Paul, this is perfect for the theme - I need to go back and read your post about the lost egret - I know I saw the heading on another forum. Your kanji are beautiful and I love the parchment look

Paul, This came out really nice. I wonder if the yin-yang symbol should be smaller- but Dan would know much better that I would. Great looking background and the burnt edges are a nice addition.

Great work, Paul (great bird! I'd love to see it). I like the calligraphy and it's placement. I would reduce the size some though, as it really drawns the eye. What does it say?

Well done, Paul, with good suggestions made...your treatment of this image gives it an almost timeless element...well thought out.

This is beautiful, like an ancient scroll with the burnt edges and parchment look. Herons and cranes are classic Asian subjects in my mind.

All of the above. The egret just says Oriental to me, and this treatment nails it.
