Very nice shot of an animal I've never seen. :) The detail, exposure, and composition look good. Lovely light in the eye. I might up the vibrance a little bit. The colors seem slightly washed out on my monitor. I'd also consider cloning out the beige blade of grass running from the bottom corner...or maybe just clone out to where the green grass blades run, and try a teeny bit more crop from the right corner in, to exclude the two leaves in the frame. (just cleaning up a bit) Overall, a nice shot!

A handsome lad and a nice portrait. I agree that the piece of grass is distracting. For the crop, I would really make it portrait by taking some of the right which would position the head more to the right. If you have some space above I would include some there too. This is what I am thinking (the crop ends up being more or less square but IMO that's fine). BTW the added canvas at the top was filled with Content-aware fill in Photoshop. It did a pretty good job.

Thank you for sharing this well presented ,beautiful animal. This is also a new animal for me. I have nothing to add, Jeannean and John have covered the critique points.
