Hi Richard,
You captured this big bird on such a small perch in a fantastic pose. But I see lot of yellow color cast (May be you want to retain the hint of evening light) but I removed the color cast and here is corrected version (hope you do not mind)
P.S. - I also cropped it slightly from in front of the bird. Let me know what you think.

Hi,
The yellowish cast was from the low sun shining from the right, late evening. I deliberaly left the white balance as is ( original raw file ), as that's what the color looked like, but I do like yor repost.

Wonderful light and great detail in the plumage. I like the small perch. Was this taken from a hide? Or are the Bald Eagles so approachable in your area? I think this would be impossible without a hide with a White-tailed Eagle, the Bald Eagle's closest relative and occurring here in Germany. Markus

Love the light in the original. A fine image as it is posted.

Markus - Bald eagles around here are quite approachable, and have almost become urban birds. This was a chance sighting on my way home the other evening, and I took the picture from my car.

Thanks, very interesting. I think those Bald Eagles should talk to our White-tailed Eagles :-) Markus
