This image is hard to crop,I have tried it with more on the right, and thought there was too much negative space, could not do a vertical,so did it this way what do you think ,wrong or right,cannon500mm IS L USM,700MM FL,TRIPOD,7D,CROPPED,SHARPENED,F/6.3.1/400S,ISO320.

    Very nice Chris.
Soft diffuse light and HA. Lovely complimentary BG as well
Personally I would crop this one as a landscape cropping to above the lower leaves and a bit more space on the right.

PS I have noticed that you spell Canon with 2 n's. I am not the spelling police but thought I would bring your attention to it!

Beautiful bird, perch and colors. I would like to see this as a landscape as well. Lovely image, Chris.

I like it better, yes! I might place it just a touch lower.

Very attractive bird, great light, perch. Personally I prefer the first one (vertical) with one exception; I would have moved the bir higher up in the frame.

Repost looks much better, less cramped. Lovely bird, excellent HA and delicate perch. Normally I do not like so much of the subject obstructed by the perch, but in this case I think it makes it look nice and settled in there :-)

I like the pose, perch, HA, details and sharpness. Repost is a big improvement. Excellent image Chris!

I think that both crops have their merits but on balance prefer the landscape, nice looking bird beautifully captured.

Hi Chris, Lovely soft light, and you have exposed, and brought out the colours on the Chat nicely. Your repost looks much better, although I would take a touch off the bottom.
