    Default ...easy like Sunday morning!

A beautiful bear (captive) enjoying a siesta. I was hoping to get a shot of the large paws of this guy, and he suddenly decided to pose. During PP, I wanted to add some punch to the visible paws, and hence the processing.

    Canon 7D, Manual, 1/500 s, ISO 640, f/5.6, Eval metering. CS5 w/ Nik.

    Comments welcome!

has an antique look to it. Good if that's what you were going for. I think I'd prefer more of a whitish that yellowish look, but then I'm maybe too much of a realist. Love the pose and the paws! Not the usual and that's a very good thing.

Shreyas, I love the pose and the toning. Did you use Pixel Bender? There seems to be a different texture to the fur - whatever it is I like it a lot.

I like the look of the image, polar bears always look great in B & W. I like the graininess of the image...nicely done and composed.

Shreyas, I really like the textures in this image...in the foot pads, in the fur, in the rock...I just wish there was a bit more room between the LHS of the frame and the paw. I agree with the comment about wishing it had truer whites, but that's a matter of personal taste. Nicely done.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions!
@Hazel and John, I consciously opted for the yellowed antique look as the pure b&w was not working well for my tastes (especially the bear being so white)
@Cheryl, yes, I selectively used the PB on the fur only to add smoothness to the fur.

The processing has brought out the detail very nicely, I'm rather fond of this kind of effect, I do similar with some of my bird images from time to time....hehehehe, love the leg hanging over the rock.

Only one complaint.......the title....now I cant get the song out of my head ! hehehehe
