This beautiful bird is endemic to the highlands of Costa Rica. I was fortunate to find this guy one morning with a few of my workshop clients this year. What a treat to get some great images of this beauty before we had even had breakfast :D

What a beautiful bird and setting, Glenn. And super bonus to get the berry in the beak! Gorgeous colors. The only suggestion I have is that the crest blends in so much with the background, that maybe you could try just a touch of burning to darken it a little, to create some separation?

Great pose captured, Glenn. The berries are a great setting, and to get one in the beak is a real plus. In fact, there is such a luxury of berries that I could imagine a slightly tighter crop - a bit off left and top - and still have a beautiful setting with more emphasis on the bird. Maybe add a few points of black. In any event, a lovey shot just as posted.

Great image Glenn! I like the setting, berry in the beak, yellow eye ring and pose. I would tone down the lower part of the perch.

Glenn - I like the complementary colors of the bird and bg. The berry in the mouth adds to the image, of course. Excellent IQ.

Glenn you have some nice (and different for us) birds in Costa Rica. On this photo I would have cropped in a little tighter and as others have mentioned pulled out the crest. Cool bird!
