I looked through some images from the past few weeks to see if any might lend themselves to an Oil Paint filter, and thought this one might be worth a shot. What do you think. (I know the bird is centered, but to do otherwise would cut off the flow of the leaves.)

Bill, I don't mind the centered composition - the bunting is beautiful - I like the PB effect especially on the bird. Sometimes I will brush out a little more of the effect on the background but that's a matter of personal taste. You might want to eliminate the black spot on the leaf in the front. Nice job

Bill, I'm with Cheryl...I love the effect on the bird, but, to my eye at least, it's a bit of a distraction in the BG; masking and brushing out some of it might strengthen the image. If it were mine, I might use the crop tool and the Fill->Content Aware to add a bit of canvas to the LHS that is simply that beautifully hued green BG...just a thought. Nice image!

Thanks, all, for the helpful comments. I'll admit that I thought the bg was a little over-filtered.

ok, now I'm jealous. I've been trying to get the indigo bunting "living" in my friend's yard for weeks now and all I can get is a beautiful blue blur. Congrats on catching this one. I do think the BKgrd is a bit strong, though.
