Winter

OK, I know an egret wouldn't be nesting in winter but I liked the effect I started with an image I've posted before, used Fractalius lines, then DAP Watercolor, added my kanji that means "family", and when I was playing around with textures I tried Mosaic Tile and fiddled with the sliders and it looked like snow. (Snow was not my intent - I was looking for a little added texture but I liked it this way). I'll be waiting for Dan to discuss the chop placement - it's the hardest part for me - I moved it around until I wore it out.
Thanks for looking. Hopefully more folks are working on a theme image - it's a great learning experience because Dan is an excellent Asian artist.

Nice, Cheryl! I think the chop/calligraphy are fine where they are but I would probably have made them smaller. They seem to compete with the egret, particularly the calligraphy.

Lovely image, Cheryl. The "snow" effect worked nicely. The repost is an improvement IMO.

I really like the pale blue textured bkgd with the white egret. I wonder how the composition would look with more blue above the bird and your symbols placed correspondingly higher. They do look sized better in the repost.

Cheryl: Lovely work! The snow effect you accidentally found is very nice. Beautiful soft colors. The Egret is silent, powerful and delicate.
