I like the sharpness, details, red eye and HA. Wish you luck on getting him in the open next time. Well done Morkel.

Nice light, sharp and an impressive bird. Shooting angle is a bit high and the thorn in the FG is not helping IMHO.

The light is stunning and you are indeed fortunate to have him out in the open.
Beautiful pose and IQ.
I wish that thorn wasn't in the FG. Still a lovely image,
Gail

I'll drink to that, but it does happen every now and then

Wow, this is nice Morkel, such lovely light and fabulous detail, I think this looks great as is, much better than a BOAS composition, those thorns are wicked and show well the harsh environment they eek out an existence in { maybe minus the front thorn ? } Extra kudos for what must be a once in a blue moon opportunity

Thanks for the constructive feedback, folks. They love sitting in dense foliage and on thorny perches. I once witnessed a Coucal battling a chameleon for almost an hour, trying to claim the reptile for lunch, but the chameleon just kept on clinging to every twig he could find and did not let go.

Love that rich, warm light Morkel. Perfect IQ and exposure.
