Default My zebra baby doesn't know from love nor tenderness

What a ridiculous title! Mea maxima culpa. Anyhow: grebe babies are cute and vaguely monstrous and I love them. But wait: grebes, like all birds, can never love me back. How can love be called love if it's only ever one-sided? Hmm! Who cares? I know I don't! This picture was taken with the Canon 7D and 70-300L at 300mm, iso400, 1/400, f5.6. This is approximately 75% of the original smacko! I'll welcome your thoughts and ideas and will tell you pre-emptively that a lower angle would have put my life at risk. No jokes, folks! Anyhow: I'm no low-angle monster, and I like the reflection. Enough defensive rambling! Nos vemos!

    Hi Jack,

Nice and sharp capture with beautiful reflection. I would like to crop this image from top and left side and would like to add some canvas from right side.

    Jack,

This guy is just precious. I have never gotten a photo of one of these little guys and would sure love to have one looking at me. I have no changes for you. I am curious - why is the reflection green - is there something in the water?

Very nice shot. I really like the head look it's giving you, exposed well, and excellent reflection.
    Well done.

Fine detail and good high key image. Might take just a bit off the bottom. Loving the reflection. Also could use a very small border around the image to help set it off from the page.

    Really nice pose.
The reflection is an unusual color but the more I look at it the more I like it.
I agree 100% with adding a black border around the image,

You don't know for sure he doesn't love you he just may I think they are cute too and wish to see more. I like the low angle and clean water. I might suggest a tweak on the depth of the bird, just a little.

Cheryl, pardon my possibly extreme ignorance, but what do you mean by "a tweak on the depth of the bird"? I'd love to know!

Black (or possibly greyish or blue-grey like a gnatcatcher?) border is a GOOD idea! Thanks, birdos!

Very sweet image of fur ball. Loved every thing in the frame.
