I photographed this on the beach at Sanibel Fl. Any critiques welcomed. I used my Sony Alpha 100 DSL Fstop F/8.0 Aperture F/5.6 focal length 140 mm spot metering

I think you can post much larger than this for a more detailed look. At this size, I like the wing stretch and the very faint reflection.

    Hi John,

    Big welcome to BPN!!!

As Jim mentioned, a bigger size will let us evaluate your work better.

There's a thread about sizing for posting in the Digital Workflow Forum.

Nice wings stretch, wish you were a bit more eye level with the bird and maybe a tad less exposure on the whites.

Hope to make your experience here fulfilling :)

When I try to make the picture larger, I get a message stating I am exceeding the limits.

How are you doing the resize?
    I do:

Image size and set 750 pixels (up to 800 now I think) on the longest size, then either save for web (if I don't care about the exif data being stripped) or save as and select the compression to get down the size limits.

In save for web, you can specify "optimize to file size" to get it where you need it to be.

The reflection doesn't play much of a role here, so I would lose most of it and put the bird lower in the frame and have more room at the top.

    Welcome to BPN, John!

Your last image with the cropped bottom is absolutely beautiful My only wish is for a lower angle.
