    Default Bosque road

The Bosque del Apache NWR offers so many photographic opportunities and challenges that I find myself making schedules for what I am going to shoot on any given day there. I tend to favor bird images, but when scenes like this are in front of me I can't resist having a go at capturing them. This is a part of the loop road that Bosque regulars will recognize immediately as the "southeastern corner". If you haven't been there and have the means to get there, you owe it to yourself to spend a week or two.

Love the painterly feel of this one Kerry and the golden tones. Very nicely done. Great use of perspective lines I must say in the original.

Very nice, Kerry...I guessed DAP at first, you did a great job creating an impressionistic painting from your photo...it would look beautiful on canvas. Warm, rich fall colors....curved line of the road juxtaposed with the straight leading lines of the fences..great placement of the horizon...wonderful play of light and shadow. Strong base image, fantastic processing. Wouldn't change a thing.

My first reaction was that the image was over-simplified. But, as I looked at it more, I liked it more. I think my reaction was influenced by just having seen John's HDR with lots of details, and your image is quite different from that. This is such a simple and pleasing composition. My eye is lead all around the image (I almost wrote painting). Beautiful colors.

Kerry, I like this for all the reasons stated above. It reminds me of a Southwestern artist's work who specializes in pastels - Jan Myers - she's one of my favorite American artists

I do recognize this road and I was there when the trees were blazing with color. You captured the feeling beautifully with the painting effect that puts the emphasis on color.

Thanks everyone! Cheryl, that is pretty uncanny about Jan Myers. I was not aware of her work but I can see the similarity! This gives me more ideas...

Kerry, she really does nice work - I assumed when I opened your image that you knew of her because it looks so much like her pastels.
