Well its a sharp lens by the looks, but so is the sensor. Excellent sharp shot and good behaviour showing what bees do the best. Very nice to see.

Who needs a dedicated macro for delivering great macro shots ?...not you it seems. This is really nice, well isolated from the background and composed in the frame perfectly 10/10 in my books

Beautiful exposure and detail... good action capture... complimented by an awesome bg... so VWD Micheal!

You did get a good image. I like watching bees tuck into flowers, and you captured just such a moment.

Hi Michael and welcome to the Macro forum! Very nice work hand holding the big "macro" lens. Good action, comp, colors, sharpness, and DOF. Well done! I hope to see more of your macro work!

Nice work! I agree with all comments already mentioned. You might consider adding a vignette to this image!

I've looked at this image several times and finally thought I would comment. I have that 300mm lens and like it very much even though I am still learning how to use it. But i wanted to comment about the photo. I think the way the plant has curved lines going toward the bee help draw the attention to the bee and the way the bee's body curves toward the flower help bring attention to the eye.....and somehow the little bee seems to have a personality.... I can't explain it as I operate mainly from intuition rather than the science of photography.... but that is what makes the photo work for me. I like it and hope you pst more too.
