You guys are having way too much fun on this forum. As a newbie, I thought I'd just try a simple colored pencil filter on an old spoonbill shot from Alafia Bank. I liked the almost jellyfish-like translucency of the wings. C&C appreciated.

Bill, this is absolutely beautiful - the wings look like dragonfly wings. I hope we see more of your creative work hereDid you use the colored pencil filter in PS or a plug-in?

Thanks Cheryl. It was the colored pencil filter in CS5.
Bill, this has almost a dream-like quality; I wish there was a bit more separation between some of the colors in the body or the spoonbill and the background color, while leaving the translucency of the wings...a matter of personal taste. Hope to see more of your work here!
Thanks John. I agree. I played with the filter sliders but couldn't quite get the separation I wanted in the body without affecting the far wing.
Bill, Very impressive! I like the translucent look of the wings too.
Almost a see through look Bill and that appeals. Great title for it and love the soft muted colours Bill.
Danny.
BTW, we don't have Spoonbills that colour here Bill, I'm envious. We only have the Royal Spoonbill.
Thanks Denise and Danny.
