Here's a familiar sight in rural areas...a Savannah Sparrow watching traffic (or lack of!) along a dirt road fencing barbed wire. Very common, but no doubt overlooked by most motorists :-)

Fantastic IQ, great light and colors. Perfect BG. Not the most beautiful perch but a perfect fit here as it shows a popular perch of the species. Markus

Very nice image, Dan. The bird placement is perfect. Great light, sweet bg and great details. Somehow I don't mind the perch at all.

What a funny pose, just hanging out on the barb wire!
Perfect exposure and I like the barb wire perch. The rusted look has a lot of character.

No problems with the perch - it is rusted and aged not shiny new. Love the squat pose and all fluffed up.

great light details and BG, I have to say I'm not a fan of the barb wire and the pose is a bit too static. TFS

Barbed wire is a bit like Marmite...you either love it or hate it. I think it works great here. I like the pose and the birds fluffed up feathers.
