    Default Northern Bob White on Rock

    This is a released bird that lives wild and free in one of our local parks. Seems as if he comes out nearly every evening around dark and sings his sweet call. I just wish he'd do it a little earlier so as to give me a little lee-way with my settings. The background is wildflowers.

    Well, you managed to do just fine with your settings and also get a nice perch, killer BG, and wonderful pose and composition with excellent detail!

    Would love to get a chance to photograph one of these guys someday.

    Hi Grace, excellent perspective, and you timed the calling pose very well. Good use of flash, and I like the different colours on this fellow.

    Grace - the slightly cocked head and calling pose really adds to this. Nice bg too.

    Truly a lovely capture, Grace. That BG really makes the Bobwhite pop. You have great details and colors in your bird and I like the calling pose.

    Nice. The calling pose, perch, and background (especially the yellow OOF flowers) are all very nice.

    It all comes together very well indeed, a fine shot, ticks all the boxes for me. I am guessing this is a partridge??

    Oh, just a wonderful portrait, Grace! Such lovely colors, detail, and that BG! You really did a superb job. I heard one on assateague a couple weeks ago but never saw it. I am in love with their call and you captured a calling pose, and how.

    If this is anything like Quails here then very very well done, as I cannot get close to these type of birds, stunning colors and patterns on this bird and sitting prominently upon the rock....did you use superglue on his feet per chance hehehe { kidding }
