    Default Eastern Yellow Wagtail

Have not been that active recently - training courses, car crashes (everyone involved walked away ok including me - car not so happy) and a job application and interview.

I took this some months ago but thought about this species again when Alan Murphy posted recently the same species but in Alaska.

Taken from car and the bird was on the road. The road surface is made up of railway stones - the stones they pack around the sleepers.

1d MK 4, 700mm, 1/1250 @ 5.6, 400iso. Manual mode from memory with lens balanced on car door frame.

    Thanks Tom

An attractive unique setting I think.
The bird looks very nice, nice IQ and DOF.

The yellow plumage looks great against the duller rocky surroundings. Really nice of it to perch on the higher rock to for a fully clear look at it from head to toe. Nicely placed in the frame. I would have preferred a bit more even lighting on the little fella.

Happy none of you got hurt in the accident...

Was side lit but I just could not get the car into a better position. He realy stood out on those grey rocks. Hard little bird to get close to.

have to look for a new car now.
