    Default Pale Chanting Goshawk

I captured this image in the Kgalagadi Transfontier Park. We were very lucky to come across 2 of these Goshawks chasing a Black Backed Jackal around. One of them flew in and went to sit on this perch, after a while he flew off and I captured this image.
Small amount of canvas extended to the right.

    Canon EOS 1D Mark 4

Comments and input will be appreciated! Thanks.

Absolutely love the dynamic pose, warm light, and composition. About the only thing you could ask for would be a slightly better head angle with more eye contact.

Hi Wynand, well timed for the take off, and captured in lovely light. I really like the colours in this.

Sweeet shot, Wynand. Just love the dynamic pose, the gorgeous golden light, the bg and the framing. This is a definite winner in my book!

Awesome shot Wynand. I like the look of intent in its eyes. It makes me wonder what he is after.

Very nice Wynand! He appears to be taking flight with some authority. The head angle doesn't bother me at all for this particular shot due to the way it makes him appear focused on a target while taking flight. Appears natural and also makes you think about what he's after in my opinion. I like the framing and lovely light. Technicals look good to me as well. Nice work!

    This is stunning.
I love the horizontal lines created by the feet/legs and left wing.
The light "is to die for". IQ is excellent and so is the composition.
I am fine with the HA as it shows how focused he is.
    Well done Wynand!

Great moment captured, given the colours I presume this is a juvenile?
