I took this at Kenilworth Gardens outside of DC. I processed it for contrast, sharpness and then added a glow , in color efex. The bg was shadowed trees in the distance and then darkened in PS

Bob, one of my favorite flowers to photograph; this is simply composed, had great color and detail, and I think the "spotlight" of green behind the right edge of the flower is a nice touch. I wish the background in this instance had a little more color...a very dark green with the spotlight a somewhat brighter green perhaps; but I don't know the what the background looked like, so it may not have been possible. To my eye, I think I'd crop a bit from the bottom...a strong image, beautifully processed...all of our Lotus are gone now...wish I could have been shooting with you!
