I like this image because of the head angle but I think it's pretty ordinary otherwise, anxious to see if you agree. The quality of work submitted on this forum is extraordinary.

I have to agree with your own critique. I would like to see more room to the left side of the frame. I would also try to bring more details under the wings.
What I like best about this is that with the good head angle you can see the diagnostic long, de-curved bill.
