What a cute little plump fella! Nice colours, good details, beautiful BG. As posted the IQ looks great for the high-ish ISO. A different type of perch for a kingfisher! Some hot spots on the plumage and front foot though, and I'd clean up the eye just a bit (extra faint reflection on bottom half).

P.S. Nice first post...welcome to BPN!

Thanks for your kind words, Daniel, Vivaldo and Sanjeevprakash!

Daniel, I got some difficulty in toning down the hotspot on the front foot, looks like it really got burned. Thanks for pointing out the extra faint reflection in the eye which should have been cloned out. Thanks!

    Welcome to BPN.
A beautiful first post. I love the colors and how well the BG colors compliment the KF.
Good points by Daniel. Excellent IQ and noise control considering the high ISO,
    Gail

Welcome aboard. Great first post. Killer sharp and awesome colors. Excellent subject angle and wow...superb IQ for that ISO. A tad more DOF would have been nice but clearly light was not very good and you did your best.

I think the rock is a bit overpowering. A healthy chunk off the bottom will make it better IMO.

    Thanks, Gail and Kaustubh!

Indeed, I should have increased my DOF. Thanks for the tip about the overpowering rock. I though that would have been enough size.
