Up here in amherst MA for the NECCC weekend seminars. Ran into Nick Palmiari(probably butchered the spelling) , and he told me about these old train cars near a farm stand. Took a ride and found them so did some HDR stuff. This is a 5 image composit , 1 stop apart and processed with NIK HDR Pro. Will upgrade to the new version when I get home. Tweeked a bit in CS5.

    Thanks for the tip Nick.

Joe, I like this one. The sky is lovely. I might take a little off the bottom. The train has a lot of interest. I bet this would make a great Fractalius image too. Glad you are having fun!

Great subject for HDR, Joe, like the colors and texture /details. Sky, train, and grass all work together well to create a pleasing composition.

I really like the image and hdr work. I might like to see a version with the temperature cooled down a smidge to make the clouds a bit less warm. Just for comparison., and an alternate feel.

Hi, Joe, I really like the HDR effect and the composition. I like Dave's idea about the sky - I'd like to see it a little closer to the blue tones in the train.

Joe, I'm just starting to play with HDR a bit myself...for me, it's challenging...but I like the effect here, and you have a strong composition. Good points mad about taking a sliver from the bottom and perhaps tweaking the color a bit. Well done!

The train cars stand out beautifully from their surroundings. Nice details. Love that blue. I, too, would take some off the bottom.

    Rust rust glorious rust !

Love it with the bright blue and contrasting rust, I rather like the composition with train slightly off angle, my only thought is the sky is rather grey and flat looking compared to the rest of the image

Hey Joe, Nice seeing you at Amherst, glad you found the box cars. My only suggestions would be to selectively crank the red up a bit on the train to bring out the rust a tad bit more. Nice job!
