    From small boat, hand held

    1/200 f 5.6 ISO 800 eV O 100-400 @ 400 Canon 7D


    Water drops from canopy overhead as it had just stopped chucking it down :-)

    nice colored bird,like the water drops,the birds a touch soft,maybe hand held and low shutter speed, thats if you took it at 400mm.thanks.

    yes was 400 as above, agree a little soft, its very different to my normal stuff.

    I've always liked photos that give off a real sense of mood Richard and your shot does it for me. Exposure on the Egret is good given the dark background , water drops and reflection really add to the overall appeal.

    Well thank you Richard; what a nice comment (I dont get that many)

    The water there, in the back channels is blackened by the large amount of volcanic compounds leaching into the river.
    Aliitle further downriver close to Nicaragua there is an zctive undersea volcano!

    It was very rainy there indeed; had to wear big green waterproofs and keep camera covered. Then it stopped and blazed!
