    Captured near the Mexican border in extreme southern California, this Swainson's Hawk is a life bird for me. I left the clear blue sky untouched this time.

    1D4, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/7.1@1/1000 ISO 400 WB 5100K
    AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

    What are you doing so close to the border - hahahahaha.

    Nice BIF shot was the f/7.1 aperture to contol the sky/light or DoF - well done.

    Great to see this species Kerry. I like the eye contact with the bird looking down (at you maybe?). Lots of detail in the shadows but the exposure kept the sky nice and blue. I like that.
