    Setup. These little balls of energy are amoung my favorite birds. D700, 300mm, 1.4 tc, tripod. 1/250, f7.1 iso 800, popup flash for fill. Adjusted WB and cropped in ACR. S/H, USM in CS3.

    I agree. One of my favorite birds. The small-in-frame chickadee and diagonal comp work well, and BG is lovely. Nice over-the-shoulder pose. I might be tempted to address the flashed eye.

    Neat comp and a different and interesting perch, Jack.
    The looks great, nice DOF for this shot, they can be tough to get all sharp and
    yours looks very good.

    Love the perch, comp and BG. I would take a little off the top and bottom.

    I'm loving your backyard setups, Jack. This is beautifully conceived and executed. Techs are perfect. Gorgeous bird, bg and perch (what is it?).
    Would remove the extra catchlight from flash

    Hi Jack, I like the diagonal perch, together with the pose of the little fellow. Well exposed on him, good DOF, and well placed in the frame.

    Thanks everyone, I saw the steel eye after I posted. Sid I don't know what the perch is, it is the dried seed pods of a plant that grows everywhere here.
