    took this image yesterday down Bowland,cannon500mm IS L USM,7d,tripod,iso400,1/500s,f5.6.croppd,shaerpened.comments good bad.thanks.PS.I know it is side lit,but it gives it form.

    Another beautiful image Chris...Love the perch, composition, calling pose and details...I have mixed feelings for BG and I might work on eye..for some reason eye doesn't look right.

    It got a lot of light from the side IMO and that is why the eye looks kind of strange. Maybe you could get that side a little darker with more contrast? Like the perch....very sweet. TFS.

    The bird looks nice, the perch is stunning, sort of takes my eye off the bird because it is so nice!

    I also love the bird and the perch always is important and it makes the photo.

    I think overall a very pleasing composition with the flowers as important as the bird itself, more than just a bird shot I feel, like it a lot. I too am undecided about the dark right hand region, I rather think maybe it would look nicer with the bird looking into a brighter part of the backdrop, as if it is looking towards the direction of light rather than the darker area

    Very nice shot. I love the perch, great background, I like the pose, and comp. I think a little lower head angle and maybe slightly looking to it's left would have been nice, but we cant always get waht we want.
