Migration is in full swing now and this Prarie was singing on territory.

I like it Jim !!! Excellent singing pose !!! Beautiful father reproduction and managed a pleasing bg I would clone the extra bright areas on the bg Use flash for this one? Btw would also get rid of the branch on the UR corner !!! Good luck with the migration !!!!

    Alfred,
Thanks for the comments. I didnt use flash, it is all natural light, and I will take the suggestion of cloning out the bright areas and the branch in the corner.

Nice pose and sharp. I might also tone down the branch below the bird.

So nice to see this species in action. Great capture of the singing with no apparent hint of movement in the head. On my monitor the lower branches have a magenta tone and I think the whole image is a bit "hot". Maybe some desaturation, selective or otherwise, would be useful.

This is one of those situations that would have benefitted from fill-flash. I personally try avoiding having birds in the shade set up in front of brightly lit BGs without any fill-flash. The bright spots in ULC and the bright streak running along the top of the perch are unfortunate. I love the pose, and the coiled-up tangle in LRC (only wish there was more room below to include more of it) :-)

Great pose on the bird. Alfred and Daniel's suggestion are spot on.

Very sweet image Jim with great singing pose!! The bright highlights in the BG do tend to attract the eye, and cloning out would enhance the composition. Well captured!!!

A super pose and quite sharp/detailed. I agree the highlights are a bit distracting.

I love this shot! I couldn't resist attempting to apply some of the suggested improvements. I cloned out the hot background spots and the upper right branch. Also adjusted with highlights/shadows and upped the contrast a bit and then uploaded it here to compare with your original post. Dan Brown
