Here's a shot of an American Avocet from Oak Hammock Marsh (north of Winnipeg, Manitoba) earlier this spring. It has seemed like a tough year at Oak Hammock with very low water levels - most of the blinds are completely high and dry a considerable distance from the water's edge. This has meant setting up some impromptu blinds (this was shot from under a tarp) and utilizing some long focal lengths to reach the water.

Probably my most favorite shorebird. I had the opportunity to photograph them in galveston recently, but not as nice as this . You had killer light and made good use of it. Love the comp. and beautiful water color as well. I had flat overcast light which did not do this bird justice. You , on the other hand , worked this one very well.
If mine, I'd add some room above. If you dont have it, then extending this canvas should be pretty easy. Exposure looks a tad high and is there a slight color cast?
Lovely portrait. The light is gorgeous and exposure looks spot on. If you have the space, I might add a tad on top but okay as is too. I am not seeing a color cast on my monitor.
Wonderful image of this elegant species sir. The light quality is top notch, as is the
presentation. Subject placement and size in the frame looks well balanced and
pleasing to my eye.
