    Taken yesterday evening. Cropped for composition and sharpened. NR applied to BG.

    Canon EOS: 550D, 100-400.
    Av mode, F: 9.0, 1/640, ISO: 320, Spot metering, White balance: Auto. HH.
    Exposure bias: +0.7 stop.

    Great head sharpness Satish however would have prefered the a slight head turn towards you.

    Hi Satish, the egret certainly has his eyes fixed on his next meal, and I like that we can see the remains of his past meals on the side of his bill. Yes to a better HA, and I would lighten his head.

    sharp head shot however the light angle and the head that was angled away from us worked against you here.

    Very nice comp.
    I like the stray feather and the intense gaze.
    Like the gun metal grey BG and the exposure on the whites.

    Satish, dont think this is a cattle egret. must be Little egret.

    Nice details but head position is not ideal. Emty space at the top is also not adding much. might have gone for a horizontal comp. with more body.

    Hi Satish,

    The head angle doesn't bother me so much, because the eye is angled downwards and gives the impression of the bird really concentrating on something below and slightly ahead. But less room at the top and more on the bottom would act as a leading line towards the presumed prey. I like the exposure and sharpness.

    Kauhtubh, You are right,it is Little Egret,by mistake it has been labeled as cattle.Thank you for pointing the the same.
