Hi all... sorry that I have not posted for a long time but here's one for the gallery... this is one the most beautiful jumping spider I have photographed (from my very own garden)... my aim was to get an angle which was full frontal and that I could also get a very clean bg.

    Canon 60D
    Canon MPE 65mm
    MT-24EX Macro twinlite (diffused)
    Aperture: f16
    Mag: x2.5
    SS: 1/200s
    ISO: 100
    Metering: Spot

    Crits and comments welcome... ENJOY!

Hi Jason. It's nice to see you back here again! I must say your use of diffused flash has improved by leaps and bounds and is now first rate! The head-on view of the little jumpers is very dramatic and you fit all the most important areas within your narrow DOF. Also nice comp and background. This is very well done!

Rather like the unusual green light in the eye, beautiful about sums it up perfectly

How cool! Awesome details, and the eyes look like actual glass. How did you ever get to stay still for you!?

Thank you so much Daniel! The glassy feel to the eyes is as result of the flash diffusion otherwise you would have had alot of strong highlights on the spider. How did it sit stil... with my macro photography... the word patience and endurance and a stiff neck comes to mind... shoot away till you get that shot... thanx once again for the view!
