Eyes of the wolf

Wild Lycosa tarantula (wolf spider) that let me get pretty close. Can even see a few mites under its mouth

Nikon D7000 with 105mm VR micro lens

f14 , 1/80 using inbuilt flash. No crop at all just removed a bit of flash reflection from its right (our left) fang.

Hi Shane... an excellent shot... with lovely detail and angle... good dof and bg... maybe diffuse your flash so that you dont have a highlight issue... otherwise so VWD!

Hi Shane. Love the tight in-your-face look! Good sharpness within your DOF. You must have indeed gotten quite close if this is full frame! We have discussed flash diffusion in your previous posts so I won't repeat. I'll just refer you to Jason's jumping spider post above as an example of the difference diffused flash can make. Keep them coming!

Very Halloween-esque with this colour motif and "scary" subject. Very in-your-face, and those outstretched legs make it seem like it wants to catch me! I do wish for more space below, and the boys have a point about the light.

Hope to be able to sort out the light issue pretty soon but still deciding on what lighting system to use which is light enough to carry with me on my country walks.
