Incoming

I was concentrating on the terns at Sandy Hook a few weeks ago when I heard my wife yell "Oystercatcher". I looked up to see this guy coming at me, and swiveled the rig around in time to get off one frame before he veered off. I bit of an unusual pose, so I thought I'd share it even though the light angle was less than ideal.

D7000, 500f4 + 1.4, ISO 640, 1/3200s @ f/6.3 manual, gitzo and mongoose
