    Hi all,
    photographed this bird during a Svalbard expedition on search for bears,no bears so took what i got by that time.Approached the bird on foot and took this shot with the 100-400 lens at 400 mm.

    Canon EOS 1 D II N
    EF 100-400
    HH
    F5 / 1 /1000 sec / ISO 400

    50% crop of FF original is horizontal.
    Processed in DPP and PS

    Very nice comp and deatil in the whites.
    vertical was definitely the way to go!
    I would tone down the white blobs in the Bg behind the bird.
    I love the color palette here with the grey, and gun metal grey and white with the hit of red.

    Hi Andreas - I agree with Gail, very nice detail in the whites and I too like the colors and vertical comp.

    very nice image,nice detail,nice pose and colors,I see on my screen,artifacts from the top of the birds head down its back to midway,I dont know if you have been using selections or not.thanks.

    Detail in the whites has held up well, but I think I can just see a halo appearing on the edges, and yes looks good as a vertical

    Thank you to all you commenters for statements.
    Christopher and Phil good point on that halo,did not recognized it.sloppy masking.
    Hope the RP fixed that.

    The masking is alot better in the repost...I'd still love for the BG to be cleaned up though. Good comp, pose (perfect HA), whites.
