Inspired by Denise's latest post, I applied some fractalius softness to a layer, reduced the opacity, revealed the eye and, warming up for the upcoming "Asian weeks" I added the chop. The original was captured (under exposed, oops) yesterday at a local "urban rookery" near my home.

Dan, this has a beautiful, ethereal feel to it. I've started going through my images to get ready for Asian Week also

Dan, It has a nice ethereal look to it. I love the high-key and the pose is killer! Maybe not so centered but that may have been a choice to go with the chop-I'm not sure. BTW the chop is wonderful and I can't wait till Asian week too!

This is other-worldly...aptly titled! I agree with Denise's comment that it may be a bit too centered...but somewhat balanced by the chop. Nicely done.

I agree with those above. A wonderful capture, and dynamite processing work.

    Nice image and application, Dan.

Can't wait to see your Asian images again.

Beautiful treatment. I like the soft look, the pale tones, how the bird is going upward and seeming to blend into the atmosphere. Subtle. Might crop some off the left side, but not that important.
