From a Fort Myers marsh a couple months ago. I know the wing position may not be ideal for some, but I still liked it for the form and the BG. And yes, a slightly better HA would have been ideal but at the same time I did think there was eye contact so it seemed acceptable.
Recovery on whites of head, neck and tail. Noise removal and sharpening. About 30-40% cropped off.
All critiques and comments greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

    Melissa:

Shows off those spectacularly long legs well. Eye is good, soft BG.

    Agree about the wing position.

I think the image can go a smidge brighter, perhaps 1/3 stop.

    Cheers

Thanks Randy. I was thinking the same thing when I looked at it after posting.
Here it is a bit brighter.

What lovely legs this creature possesses!!! Your BG is killer here, and I can understand why you like this picture regardless of the less than perfect HA and wing position. It still really stands out. You did well to catch it in flight and sharp in stunning light with such an amazing BG. Works as is or brighter...whichever works best for your eyes.

Nice looking bird and a very nice flight shot, Melissa. You are right about the wing position but the nice head turn and leg position make up for it.
The head, especially the eye and the slender beak are beautiful. Love the backgroud.

I agree about the wing position but the lighting and bg are gorgeous.
The eye contact works very well.

Hi Melissa, I like the curvature of the pose, and well exposed on the blacks. Nice and sharp throughout, and love the BG. I would maybe remove the smaller catchlight, and with the lightened repost, I see some noise on the far underwing.

A very nice image Melissa. You were lucky at getting it in flight and so sharp. I have tried catching these guys and it is not easy. Nice work

Nicely done Melissa. I agree on the nice background . Always nice to get a clean one. Wing pose is OK. Do like some of your others better but a sharp flight shot is always a nice thing. The problem I see is the legs are too close together to fit a pair of hockey skates on those feet. *-)

Gorgeous BG, and I like the comp, trailing legs. I have no issues with the HA but I agree with the wing position...specifically the near one. Keep 'em coming Melissa!
