    Default Willet in sweet light

I spent this evening photographing shorebirds with Doug Brown and we had fun. Here is one frame that I liked. The willets had fun too, jetting around with lots of tail wind which gave us a good workout

Hi Ari, good banking angle showing the feather detail and colours nicely. The colours of the BG compliment the willet very well. Great IQ for the ISO, and well captured.

These birds are fast , so getting a flight image as fine as this is a great accomplishment. Beautiful light and fine banking pose. Just seems a touch soft on the body , but the most important eye is sharp.

Colors here are gorgeous, Arash, and bird looks great against the BG.

Arash, could you please share whether you are exposing to the right when you photograph at these high ISO's? Thank you.

    Hey Marina,

I don't usually underexpose but I don't push the exposure too much either. Have to watch those whites they get blown easily. For this particular shot because it was evening light I actually underexposed by a little (maybe 1/3 stops) to protect the red channel from getting blown and preserve details in the whites. I use NR to remove the noise in post and the MK4 is quite good in terms of high ISO IQ.

Beautiful light, and I love the colors. Your normal over the top IQ!
Specular spots on the feet are a slight distraction for me. They tend to draw my eye away from the head.

A fun evening Arash! Looking forward to getting back out this afternoon! This was a difficult frame to get because the birds flew in front of the color for only a split second. Well done!

Your flight shots are amazing! This is no exception. Wonderful colors and light. Great IQ, particularly for ISO 1600. The Mark IV really delivers when it comes to IQ.
