    Nice early evening light, sitting on the ground hand-holding and bracing the lens with my knees. Not the most sophisticated field technique, but it seemed to work this time.

    1D4, EF400mm f/5.6L
    Manual mode, f/5.6@1/400 ISO 640 WB 5100K
    AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

    Kerry;

    This is really nice, the duck is very sharp, well exposed, soft light, sweet.

    The silver in the water plays well with his blacks and whites.

    Your tech. worked well.

    Now, laying on your belly would have been even lower, if not as dignified

    Cheers

    Stunning water and detail in the blacks Kerry, that eye stands out beautifully too, awkward shooting positions suit you well it seems

    What a fantastic exposure. Detail in both the light and dark areas. Very well done.

    Love it! I usually prefer lower angles but here this higher vantage point works wonderfully to highlight the beautiful texture in the water! Great techs, and I love the subdued light. A treat for the eyes!
