    Default First Duck in flight...

    Taken at Rancho Simi Park.
    Pentax K10D, Pentax 75-300mm @ 120mm, ISO-200, f/5.6, 1/1600 sec., HH, Auto Focus
I've struggled in getting ducks in flight, especially the take off and landing part. Just trying to focus on something that comes out of no where and goes down quick is still a challenge for me but I am not giving up.

Hi Luis, nice job of capturing the mallard in flight! They are a challenge sometimes. Looks like you got a bonus with the light reflected off the water under the wings. The image could use a bit more sharpening, but overall quite nice with good exposure and color. I would crop away the bright rocks at the top of the image.

Hi Luis....Birds in flight are not ever easy......especially ducks ! Your image looks pretty good to me if you crop off the distaction at the top. Your techs look good ....now its just a matter of shooting alot. I have been shooting birds in flight now for years and I have settled on the same techs you shot this with. If you are not shooting raw , I would give that a try as it will give you more colors and tones in your images. Looking forward to seeing more of your work
