    Default Great Golden Digger Wasp

I have been having a lot of fun with these wasps, who've made a home under my patio stones. They can move a lot of of stone dust in a short time. the image shows them carrying some in their jaws.
Check my blog (link below) for some extreme closeups, of those jaws....bear in mind they are wasps, and about 1 1/4 inches long.

This image has been worked on using Topaz Spicify..one of my recent favourites.

I hope your all enjoying the summer. Here its been hot, humid and dry...a few days almost 100F..we really need rain.
I have just finished playing my 45th round of golf, and my handicap is down to 16...wow...most of you can tell what I've been doing.

    Ciao for now

Cool wasp! I like the colors and glow from Spicify. Another cropping possibility would be a bit of a pano approach, cropping away most of the blurred foreground & maybe some from the top, putting more emphasis on the wasp. Loved the head on view posted on your blog.

Hi, Paul, glad to see you back posting again. I love the wasp and the Spicify filter effect. I think I'd tone down the two larger black spots in the foreground. Hope to see more wasps soon

Hi Paul, wicked capture. I like the colors and textures. I wouldn't want to tangle with this one!

Hi Paul. Good suggestions already made by both Nancy and Cheryl...wicked image! I like the idea of a pano...and would probably crop a little from the back as well. Nicely done!
